The Grand Central Chili Cook-Off is the District’s longest-running event and serves as a fundraiser for the GCDA, a 501c3 non-profit organization.
The event will take place Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 – rain or shine – along the 2400-2600 blocks of Central Avenue and will include the chili competition with over 40 contestants and beer tastings from our 5 District breweries.
Restaurants, chef’s, businesses, neighborhood associations and individuals enter their favorite chili recipe to participate and compete in multiple categories including best vegetarian, people’s choice, and the best neighborhood chili!
Our nearby neighborhoods will battle for bragging rights with Best Neighborhood Association Chili. Come support and vote for your favorite: Central Oak Park, Palmetto Park, North Kenwood, and Historic Kenwood.
The People’s Choice winner will be determined by the attendees!
Category winners will be selected in each category by professional judges.
And new this year, we will feature our District craft breweries: If I Brewed the World, Avid Brew, Cage Brewing, Arcade Brewery, and Pinellas Ale Works with select tastings of their beers selected/created just for the Cookoff!
And they will be teaming up with local restaurants who will include their beer in a special Beer Chili recipe!
Proceeds go to improvements in the Grand Central District.
